Cheap Domain | Register One Or Not?

Many people that are just starting online have limited budgets and limited knowledge. Lack of knowledge often leads you to a cheap domain registration service.

I registered my first domain with a cheap domain registrar and it was a nightmare for several reasons.

Since the registrar was offering a discounted price, they didn’t have the connection or resources that help a domain propagate quickly. I had to wait 3 days for propagation to complete its journey through the different name severs and ISPs.

Top tier registrars often get your domain propagated for everything but email in 24 hours or less. Email can take 24-36 hours to propagate.

My first registrar was also hacked and my domain was hijacked. It took 6 months and my payment receipts to prove the domain was mine and then get it back.

Once they returned the domain to my name, I was going to move it since they’d shown they weren’t secure.

I had trouble getting them to release MY domain to my new registrar.

I will never again risk my business and reputation on a cheap domain. Register with a quality registrar and you’ll be much happier.
